Dahi Wada

Ingredients:

For Wada:
1 Cup Urad daal

1 Cup Mung daal ( some may prefer only Urad daal, but i like to have both)
1-2 chilies crushed

1 tbs Ginger-Garlic Paste

Salt to taste
Oil to fry


For Dahi :
1 kg Dahi (yogurt)
Finely chopped coriander leaves

Salt to taste

Those who prefer sweet yogurt can add sugar according to taste
Roasted cumin(jeera)powder to taste
Red chili powder to taste

For Chatni :

Sweet Chatni:
6-7 Date (khajur)
1 tbs Tamarind paste

Grind everything together

Hot Chatni: 
Coriender Leaves
Salt, Green Chili

Grind everything together

How to make Wada( Bada ):

Clean, wash and soak the daal overnight.

Grind it into smooth paste.

Add Chili paste, Ginger-Garlic paste and salt to taste.

Heat oil in a pan and drop a spoonfuls of batter and fry till golden brown.

Take the hot vadas and put on baking paper so that excess oil is removed.

Put wada in cold water for 5-10 minutes. Now Take them out of water and squeeze the water and keep aside.

For Dahi:

Blend the curd (yogurt) and little water until it is smooth.

Keep in refrigerator for an hour to get chilled. Add salt or suger according to taste.

Put Sweet or hot chatni according to the preference. Sprinkle red chili powder and cumin powder according to taste.

Serving:

In a deep dish arrange wada and pour dahi over them.

Now add khajur-imli (tamarind) chutney and green chutney. Garnish with red chili powder, cumin powder and coriander as per the taste.

Serve the dahi vadas chilled.
